The LUKAS SK Thermo Podo grinding cap is an advanced professional sanding tool, specially designed for safe and controlled foot treatments within (medical) foot care and podiatry. Thanks to the innovative thermal colour change technology, the risk of overheating the skin is signalled early and visibly.

The grinding cap is made with 80 grit (coarse) and is ideal for effectively removing heavy callus and roughly pre-treating problem areas. The recommended speed is between 7,000 and 10,000 rpm (maximum 11,000 rpm), ensuring optimal performance with maximum safety.

Thermal colour change technology

The patented technology from LUKAS offers two warning levels through colour change. This informs the practitioner in time about rising temperature, so immediate action can be taken by:

• reducing the pressure
• changing the treatment area
• temporarily pausing the treatment

This prevents unpleasant sensations such as itching or pain and makes the risk of burns from overheating virtually nil.

Highly suitable for diabetes patients

For diabetics, this grinding cap is a particularly safe solution. Due to reduced sensitivity (neuropathy), overheating is often noticed too late, which can lead to serious skin damage. Combined with slower wound healing in diabetes, conventional tools such as drills, diamond burs, or scalpels pose an increased risk.
